ProBAR is proud to announce that we have recently launched our first ever Wellness Committee! Organized by our leadership as part of an ongoing commitment to support staff wellbeing, the Committee brings together representatives from each department who will connect ProBAR staff with existing American Bar Association wellness programs and benefits and will develop ProBAR-specific initiatives that promote staff sustainability, enhance physical and mental well-being, and address loneliness.

One of ProBAR’s shared beliefs as an organization is that proactive self-care is critical to effective service delivery, and the wellbeing of our staff is a priority for our organization. For the past several years, ProBAR has dedicated resources to supporting staff in multiple ways, including by implementing paid self-care time off and by contracting a mental health clinician to offer group sessions at the office.  With the creation of the Wellness Committee, ProBAR is taking steps to deepen its commitment to staff wellbeing and to identify creative, effective wellness initiatives.

In the words of Senior Paralegal Mariana Rodriguez, “ProBAR understands that for us to be great advocates, we need to be well physically and mentally.” With the Wellness Committee, we are living into this commitment and prioritizing ProBAR’s most important resource: our dedicated team of advocates.
